Snow Day!

Every winter, kids around much of the country long to hear those magic words --- "snow day" --- which really mean: No school! Even though I've been an adult for a while now, I still remember lying in my bed on dark winter mornings when I was a girl, listening to a little hand-held radio and waiting to hear my school's name read off on a big list of closings and cancellations. Once school was called off we were free to make our way out into the snowy yard or the nearby park and find our own fun (before Mom and Dad had us shovel the driveway...).

When it comes to snow days, things haven't changed all that much over the years. We've pulled together a list of cool books about snow, snow days, snow sports and all kinds of snowy fun. So grab a mug of hot chocolate, and check out some of the snazzy things you can do on your next snow day (hmmm.....sledding, skating, snowball fights, building snowpeople and snow forts, making snow angels, inner tubing, skiing....)
