A
NOTE FROM BOOKER
Hello!
I received a
nice letter from a fellow Bookworm who said:
I choose
my books by the way the cover looks and by reading the back of
the book. How do you find books that are interesting and how do
you know?
I thought this
was a great question to ask all of you! What makes you want to read
a book? I hope that you get some of your suggestions from our reviews
right here on Kidsreads.com. Drop me some e-mail at BookerTWorm@aol.com and let me know what
it takes for you to pick up a book and start turning the pages.
Now, on to more
news for this week... Remember, click on the blue underlined words

Hi sir, you
want a hat sir?
Would you like a leather hat or would you like fur?
Does any itch or both are fine?
And will you be my valentine?
Hi ma'am, how do you do ma'am?
Would you like chicken or would you like ham?
Are you allergic to one or both are fine?
And will they taste good combined?
Hi kid, what's up kid?
Have you climbed a mountain or had you slid?
If you slid, are you fine?
Did you heal, even on the spine?
I asked them these inquiries and more
Until I was tired and started to snore
When I woke they were gone
They all had went to Kazakhstan

I went to the
book store to buy a book that was on sale.
It's about a cat that lost its tail.
When I got home I checked for mail
to see if I won in a contest.
But there was nothing in it
So I went inside to sit
Thinking if I won or not
Thinking about my dog Spot
who's in the vet
Wondering about my pet
10:00
Time for bed
OUCH! I hit my head.
Morning comes
Check for mail
Envelope - for ME
I won, I won! YIPPEE!

A good book
that I read was When the Road Ends. It is about 3 orphans who get
sent to live with this couple. The man loves the children but his
wife hates them. Then the man's sister gets in an accident and loses
her husband and she gets a concussion and can't see or remember
things well. So the wife sends them all to live in a cabin. Out
in the cabin many adventures happen to them. On a scale of 1-10
I would rate it a 10+.

I love you
Booker! Since you created this cool website (or at least put this
cool section on it) all the geeky kids (like me) can enjoy their

Your Harry Potter
Trivia game was fun. It made me think hard about what I've read
in the series. Now I know that I have to think harder and focus
about what I am reading. You should come up with other trivias for
different books. Cause some kids read different things. Some might
not like it.
-- Note from Booker: We are going to be adding more and more trivia
to Kidsreads.com. If there is a book or a series that you'd like
to see a trivia game about, write me an e-mail at BookerTWorm@aol.com
and tell me!

Thank you so
much for making a website that promotes reading sometimes I feel

you for encouraging reading

I have been
reading since i was big enough to pick up a book and I just want
kids at school to know you and can be popular and still read. I
graduated from high school and was voted most popular and i just
want everyone to know it is a very cool thing to do! Also my little
buddies were going to an academic competition and they were reading
To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee and I think that that book
is a wonderful book and I agree with them that that is the best
book we have ever read! Also I would like them to know that the
book shows that growing up in a small town (like they currently
are) that it is best to be as wonderful a person as you can be,
because some day if Mrs. Lee travels to our town to write about
it, they will be the ones who will get the admirable mockingbird
roles, and they will be the ones longing to be Scout, Jem and Atticus.
And I want to remind them that even Dolphus Raymond can be looked
back on as a man of outstanding courage I would also like you to
know that I am ever so proud of my little buddies and I wish that
they will be smart enough to live in small towns because you can
find the most colorful wonderful people and I mean it!

a very good book called "Teacher's Pet." Have you read that book?
If you haven't it's about a girl named Cricket in school and there
is a new girl in her class named Zoe. Cricket always used to be
the teacher's pet, but now Zoe is teacher's pet.

I am like totally
addicted to the Dear America series. #1:Thanks to my teacher and
librarian #2: Thanks to my cousin's best friend. Here's the story......
One day my teacher took my class down to the library to read a book
in which the setting is an important part of the story. I decided,
"Well, OK. I'll just look around." I picked up a book called King
Of Dragons and after reading the first page, decided it was not
for me. Then I picked up the book Dear America: When Will This Cruel
War Be Over? I sat down and began to read it. It was WONDERFUL!!
That was only the beginning.... A few days later, my family and
I visited my dad's close cousin in Brooklyn,
NY. (I live in Nassau County on Long Island.) While we were there,
Adrienne's (my dad's cuz) friend came over with her baby boy. As
it all turned out, SHE is the designer for the Dear America
books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She said that she would send me more Dear America books that she
has lying around in her office.

The new World! So far it's great! I love you Dear America books.
--Note from
Booker: Every week I get mail about how great the Dear America series is. There seem to be
an awful lot of Dear America fans out there! If you're a Bookworm
who hasn't tried these books yet, what are you waiting for?

Hi Booker! I
love reading fairy tale books. I finished all the color fairy tale
books by Andrew Lang and I loved them. I'm reading the blue fairy
tale book over again write now. One of my favorite books is Ella
Enchanted and I just read it a third time. It's really great.

Hey! Have you
ever read The Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce? I think
everybody should read it (especially girls!)! A girl becomes a knight
and does many great deeds, including kill the evil sorcerer Duke
Roger twice!

I just want
to say I think it's great that you have a website for young
people or children to have fun about reading. It encourages children
to read and want to read. By having little quizzes or games you
are telling kids it's okay to read and reading is fun! I am 11 and
I love it! Studies have shown that if you read a lot when you are
young it increases their brainpower, and writing skills! And by
having a website of games and activities for children you are acting
as a guide for children to help learn. So thank you so much!

a lot. It has a lot of adventure in it with hobbits, dwarves, elves,
goblins, trolls, dragons, wargs and more. I highly recommend this
book. When I'm done this book I will read the rest of the books
in this series by J.R.R. Tolkien.
