Magic

Joanne was an individual she really truly was
She always wrote and read stories which were her only love.
She was actually quite intelligent though some thought her a twit
She was cunning, clever, and had amazing wit.

Joanne started at Wyedean Comprehensive School
And hung out with Sean Harris her best friend who was pretty cool.
She wrote short stories at school and achieved high grades.
By her last year she was Head Girl or Lead Pupil, her parents were amazed.

In 1983 Joanne went to Exeter University
She studied French and classics, knew it by heart from A to Z.
She spent a year in Paris as a teaching assistant as part of her degree
After graduation she worked as a research assistant for Amnesty.

While on a stalled train a story came to her
About a character named Harry Potter.
She creates the whole world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Unfortunately she has no pen or paper so she commits it all to memory.

Her Mother then died from MS at the age of 45
Joanne was only in her mid-twenties; Her mother's death made her cry.
Joanne married in '92 and gave birth to Jessica in '93
Near Christmas she divorced and continued work on her wizard story.

Joanne moved in with her sister, Di, who studied law
Living on welfare in a one-bedroom flat, life wasn't a ball
Finally she finished the manuscript for her story
And as she sent it to agents she never imagined so much glory.

Joanne's hard work was rewarded
Bloomsbury publishes and Scholastic's makes highest bid.
Her books are now published around the world
The same story is read everywhere by adults, boys, and girls.

Fire

Shimmering, shining
The flames dance around
Leaping high and running wild
Golden yellow like a crown

Climbing up and running down
Orange, yellow, and bright neon red
Crackling and sending sparks
And helping little fires to start and be fed

The fire dies down as an orange glow,
Trying to hold on,
With no where to go,
Sparks fly high yet the flames creep low.

The ring of ash is all that's there,
A memory what once was great,
Now a lifeless black that has no depth,
A single spark is a that's left.

I am 6 years old.
I wrote this poem.

FLOWER POWER
Flower Power takes a shower
every hour in the tower.

Flower Power ate a lemon
that was sour.

That is how he gets his power.

Flower power said I need a shower
it is past an hour.

The Flower Power saw another
flower that had some power.

He invited him to his tower.

I' ve read some books that are really interesting and I don't see on your 'site. These books are I think for older & more advanced readers.The names of the books are "T-Witches"& "Fingerprints".They are both series .

I am an eleven year old, and my favorite books are those of the Elsie Dinsmore series. They are not eleven year old level books, they are intended for people of the age 15 or 16, so if your eleven and you can't understand it, hey, that's okay! Just start reading more, and soon enough I know you can read it!

this book is really good if you like soap operas this is just like it and it is really good its about Pip and the three stages of his life childhood,youth,adulthood.

I like the book the face on the milk carton it is about a girl named jannie Johnson one day she is drinking a carton of milk and on the back of the carton in bold letters it said KIDNAPPED and it had a picture of a little girl in a polka dot dress she recognized the little girl it was she how could it possibly be true did her parents really kidnap her?

I like the Atlantis movie. I saw it the day it came out.We saw the movie for a field trip.I told my Mom and my sis all all about the movie so then they wanted 2 C the movie so they and saw it.My teacher brought a movie all about it. {it was on the discovery channel} We got to see the sunken city under the  water and they found this little computer it was circle. Well bye! bye! for now .

My favorite author is C.S. Lewis. Why? Because I love his books. You know , The Chronicles. I think they are very interesting. In fact I think his books are the most Interesting books I have ever read. My favorite book of the series would have to be The Last Battle. It ends the series in such a perfect way that it kind of makes you sad to know that you have to stop reading them and start reading another book. I wonder if  C.S. Lewis  will make another book to the Chronicles.

I find your website very bemusing, but I think you might want to encourage readers there is a plethora of books out there, and you cannot capture the essence and the beauty and joys of literature until you have read something from each of the genres.

I just finished reading the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Harry Potter books. They were great! I think everyone should read them!

I really liked the book tangerine. It is by Edward Bloor. It is about this kid who is legally blind but he can see really well. Lighting hits at the same time in that place they live. It is called angerine. It is called that because Tangerines used 2 grow there. The kids older brother plays really good football and everyone praises him. But the kid (paul) plays pretty good goalie but no one seems 2 notice him. He knows it is to cover up something wrong until the family moved 2 Tangerine. They lived in Houston before
