THE DANCE

      The sun is setting,
      Dolphins are dancing,
      Jumping to and fro,
      Always together,
      Dancing forever,
      Until time ends as we know.
from the author of  Waiting

August

Its the last month of school vacations
It makes me get hallucinations
The last month of relaxation
Some people say its a sensation
(that school will start soon)

Its the 8th month of the year
The month of no holidays is already here
Nothing to celebrate that is near
No holidays? Its so insincere

But August is a good thing
The weather is like that in the spring
We can still go on the slides and swings
Because the summer's not over, is it king?

I'm a Beautiful Butterfly!!!

I am a butterfly flying high above the sky,
I have pink wings, and little circle things.
Look at me soaring through the sky,
I feel so high above the ground,
I feel like I'm about to drop,
I swoop down but dive back up..
suddenly I'm in a glass jar
some kid had captured me like I was a burglar
He left me alone with no food, or water just me and the glass jar.
I had to break free!!
Can't you see?
So I kept charging at the lid and then finally I gave up.
My wing was broken.
The childs mother saw me, let me out and fixed my wing
Then I sang a very good song
And flew away, to mommy and daddy.

********************IF YOU LOVE FANTASY******************
You should defintely read The Golden Compass, part one of the His Dark Materials Trilogy. It is a little more advanced than Harry Potter, but a little less advanced than The Hobbit. Anyway, it is SO good!!! What I thought was really interesting was that every person has a daemon, or demon. The daemon is a companion to the person, and it can't leave the persons side unless it is only a few yards away. Children's daemon's can change shape into any animal, but when they become adults, their daemons take one permanent shape, and when the person dies, the daemon dies with them. In other words, the daemon is their guardian angel, their protector, or their best friend. It is so cool. The main character is a girl named Lyra, and her daemon's name is too long and hard to spell :) but she calls him Pant for short. This is seriously as good as Harry Potter. You have to read this!

In your last issue some reader's wrote to us about books they liked.I am only 10 yrs old,and I'm going into the 5th grade,and I can read 7th grade books.I like mystery books,and realated books.A few reader's told about books that I had read too.One reader said that if you like the Harry Potter books then they urge you to read "The Secret of Platform 13","Island of the Aunts",and "Which Witch." I strongly agree with this reader.I have read Platform 13 and Which Witch,and they are both my favorite books aside the Harry Potter ones.I actully have both of them.Another reader also told about "As Long As We're Together." They did the summary very well,and explained it just like the book is.I read it finished it about the same time the reader finished it themselves.I suggest this books to girls only,as boys won't be too interested in it.(not at all!!)Last but not least,a reader told about reading "Riding Freedom." If your adventours,or love horses,this is the right book to read!! I read it in the middle of the school year for this program that my school librarian was holding,and I enjoyed this book.I just want to say that reading is fun,and you always have an oppitunity to travel around the world with them.Everyone,read,read,read,and HAVE FUN!!

On your recent newsletter, under the headline of " Go, girls, go" you recently stated that we should go out and "Kick some butt" with some fun guides. I don't appreciate that I can't get a kids newsletter with a cuss word or two. I am offended by this, and I hope you take note of this E-Mail and watch yourself in future newsletters

From Booker T Worm: I am very sorry if anyone was offended by the way our Go, Girls, Go feature was stated in the newsletter.

I am 11 yrs. old. I enjoy reading JRR Tolkien's books. I am very dissapointed that I can't even find the name JRR Tolkien on your website. I can't believe the man who-in many minds- is the greatest author of all time. I highly reccomend you putting at least The Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings series on your website.

* * * * *

You have missed a good author in the "T" section. J. R. R. Tolkien is that author. He wrote The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, and many others. The readers will not be able to write to him because he has died but you may be able to write to his son, Christopher, if the writers can find hhis address. Chris eddited some of his books.  Could you please put him in,it would be great.

dude, you guys have a lot of different books on your site, but no advanced books. you know, the ones that are a little harder than the ones on your site. like stuff by authors like J.R.R. Tolkien or others. hes my favorite author. ive read 3 of his books so far, like the hobbit and the silmilarion. im in the middle of The Lord Of the Rings now, in the second book (the two towers). im 11 years old. i like the things you have on harry potter. those are cool. J.K rowling is another of my favorite authors.

* * * * *

i think that you should put some baby sitters club books on your list so that fans can read them

* * * * *

My name is Nathan Crane and I am 10 years old.  I enjoy reading the newsletter to see all the great books out there, because I like to read.  I was just wondering why there aren't books listed for Native American Month.  Native American Month is in November.  Could you see if you could research books by Native American authors for the month of November?  Thank you!  Nathan
