A NOTE FROM BOOKER
Hello!
We had a really bad thunderstorm earlier, and we were afraid a tornado might come, too. We all turned on our TV sets to watch the weather so we would be ready to get to a safe place if there was one. Thankfully, there was no tornado, and the thunderstorms stopped about an hour ago.
Weather amazes me at times. It can be so pretty, and yet be so dangerous. Last spring, my nephew named Text Reader, studied tornados for his school project. He read up on weather, and then watched the TV weather each evening to see if any place had one in their forecast. He had a map he kept on his wall, and he would put a colored pin in the place where a tornado was spotted. After three months, he had a lot of pins in his map.
Since he studied tornados, he knew what we should have done today, in case one touched down here at KidsReads.com. He called me up on the phone, and told me to get drinking water ready, get into a safe room in the center of the house, and to make sure my pets were inside. I was proud of my nephew looking out for his family.
If you like weather, we have some great books you might want to read about in our NATURE STRIKES BACK feature. You will even see the tornado book that Text Reader read in his study. Who knows? If you study bad weather, you might be able to help your own family stay safe. Do you have a lot of bad weather where you live? I have a friend who lives in an area that has earthquakes. Another friend lives in an area that gets a lot of snow. They both have to make sure they know how to stay safe.

A Series of Unfortunate Events
Thirteen books are planned for Lemony Snicket's darkly hilarious collection, A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS. It makes perfect sense that the series starts at the beginning with --- THE BAD BEGINNING, Book the First. It's in this title that we learn how children Violet, Klaus, and baby Sunny Baudelaire become orphans. And from that moment on, we're on a roller coaster ride as the Baudelaires face danger, adventure, and doom at every turn. Of course, along with all the gloominess come some pretty good laughs.
Explore our feature and find out more about these unusual books. Meet the mysterious author, Lemony Snicket in our video interview! You won't want to miss this unique and very funny reading experience!
Cool New Books for March
Check out the hot new titles that have been released for the month of March! From the Left Behind Series to a toe tapping mouse, you are sure to be pleased with our cool new round up of books for March.

Poems from fellow Bookworms
*****
A poem for the poem section on September 11th. We must not forget those who died for their country in the attacks on the WTC. This poem is my thoughts & feelings on September 11th, 2001. 9/11.
Remember When
Remember when
The towers came down?
That horrible day.
All of America cried for their loved ones,
Lost for their country.
Everyone a hero.
They stood tall 28 years,
A symbol of American pride,
Why must they crash to the ground?
Americans everywhere mourn.
For their towers that stood in NYC so long.
Two planes came in,
Making our towers come down.
The people on the plane did not know,
They would die soon.
Their families cry,
All America cries with them.
Remember when
The towers came down?
