Happy Thanksgiving!
I feel like I should open this newsletter with some rhyme since the movie version of The Cat in Hat opens today, but if I start that now this whole note will be in rhyme!
This week we bring you a series feature about Chet Gecko. This was inspired by the 2nd grade class at Central School in Warren, New Jersey. I visited there last year and asked the students what series they wanted to see --- and Chet Gecko was one they mentioned!
Lots to read so I will not keep you except to say:
All of us at Kidsreads.com wish you a Happy Thanksgiving Day May your celebration be happy, turkey-filled and gay And remember to give thanks in some purposeful way.
Okay...there's one rhyme....like I said...once you get started, it's hard to stop!
Gobble gobble!

Cool New Books for November
Strong. Courageous. Determined. Helpful. "Cool." These are just a few of the words that describe the characters featured in this month's roundup of cool new books. Although they're fictional, you'll find yourself genuinely caring for these young people, no matter how big or small their problems are. And be sure not to miss Madonna's second book for children or INKHEART, an engrossing fantasy written by Cornelia Funke, whose debut novel THE THIEF LORD was a huge success.

Thanksgiving Roundup
Thanksgiving is one of the most exciting days of the year. It's not everyday that you're able to watch a spectacular parade, enjoy an afternoon of football, and eat as much turkey as you possibly can, all in just a few short hours. But Thanksgiving is about so much more than delicious food and oversized parade floats. Because on this day, we gather with family and friends to give thanks for the many blessings we have received. The books in this special holiday roundup are fun to read and beautifully illustrated, but more importantly, they will help you understand the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

Struggles in Korea, losses during the Korean War, and the decision to leave behind loved ones to create a better future in a new, foreign place are all a part of Jin-Han's wise, funny story.
