Ten-year-old Mandy White is feeling miserable. It's bad enough that she has an overprotective mother who won't let her wear any cool clothes. But nothing is quite as bad as being teased by school bully Kim and her cohorts. Just when things seem especially grim, a new girl named Tanya moves in across the street from Mandy's house. She has dyed-orange hair, wears high heels, and she's way bigger, tougher and bolder than Kim. As Mandy and Tanya become friends, Mand knows that with Tanya by her side, she can face anything or anyone. But is Tanya really the answer to her problems?
