Salamandastron, the mountain stronghold of
Mossflower Woods, is held by the righteous badger warlord, Urthstripe
the Strong. Good and evil collide when weasel Ferhago the Assassin
and his wicked horde decide to challenge Urthstripe's control of Salamandastron,
the fire mountain.
To make matters worse, on the opposite side of Mossflower Woods, the
mice of Redwall Abbey are struggling to overcome a mysterious epidemic.
Otter Thugg and his baby dormouse companion set out to find the only
known cure for this deadly fever --- the Icetor Flowers.
But their quest won't be easy. The flower only grows on the highest
mountain in Mossflower. And it is guarded by a fierce eagle with a
voracious appetite.
As in all Redwall yarns, good eventually prevails. But there are enough
twists and breathtaking turns to keep the pacing brisk and make SALAMANDASTRON
hard to put down.
