Characters
Amelia Bedelia --- the loveable housekeeper who does exactly as she is told. Her only problem is that she misunderstands what people say, so this leads to a lot of mistakes on her part, not to mention a great deal of confusion. But Amelia is always cheerful and eager to please. People seem to love Amelia so much because of her bright personality and her delicious food --- she happens to be a wonderful cook (most of the time).
Mr. and Mrs. Rogers --- the couple who hires Amelia Bedelia to be their housekeeper. Mrs. Rogers usually has more patience with Amelia than her husband, who gets quite angry at Amelia for her mishaps. Despite their frustrations with her, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers always forgive her in the end --- they're very grateful for all the work she does (even if it's not always right).
Miss Edwards --- a science teacher who's coordinating her school's science fair, where Amelia Bedelia has volunteered to help.
Dr. Don Dinglebatt --- a university professor and famous scientist who is judging the science fair. (You might say his experience with Amelia Bedelia was a bit hair-raising!)
Alcolu --- Amelia Bedelia's cousin who helps her prepare a surprise wedding shower for one of Mrs. Rogers's friends. Their arrangements aren't quite what the guests expect.
Effie Lou --- Amelia Bedelia's niece who helps Amelia take care of Miss Emma's house and garden.
Missy Lane --- the little baby who Amelia takes care of. Little Missy falls in love with her new babysitter.
Mrs. Page --- a librarian (very appropriately named) who allows Amelia Bedelia to help out at the library. Mrs. Page is anxious because the head librarian is coming to the library, and Mrs. Page wants her visit to be special.
Mrs. Cramer --- the head librarian who has come to the library to observe how it is being run.
The Hardys --- Kathy and Bob Hardy are expecting a very special addition, while their children, Andrew and Angela, help Amelia Bedelia with additions of their own.
Arthur Stiles --- the director of the art museum. When he meets Amelia Bedelia, he tells her she can call him Art.
Drew --- a young student who is the best artist in his school. He’s sick of hearing about art while taking a tour of the museum with his classmates; he’d much rather do art.
