1. "Erin Hunter," the author of the Warriors series, is actually a pen name for two writers: Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry. Both live in the UK.
   
   
2. The two take turns writing the Warriors books. (Hint: Look on the acknowledgements page for a clue as to who wrote each book.)
   
   
3. They write under one name to avoid the confusing problem of having books from one series shelved in different areas in bookstores and libraries.
   
   
4. Not surprisingly, Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry are cat lovers. Cherith owns cats named Brambleclaw and Sorreltail. Kate owns the cats Willow, Miu-Miu and Flower.
   
   
5. Cherith first owned a cat when she lived in Africa. Named Tomlyn, it was half Siamese and half African bush cat.
   
   
6. Kate Cary is particularly interested in the way animals interact.
   
   
7. Cherith Baldry is a fan of King Arthur.
